Golfing in the Dominican Republic
Avid and amateur golfers alike come from all over the world to play the incredibly beautiful and challenging golf courses that can be found in the Dominican Republic. The three most famous courses are the two designed by golf course architect, Robert Trent Jones, at Playa Grande and at Playa Dorada, on the North Coast; and the Pete Dye-designed course located at Casa de Campo near La Romana, on the South Coast. All of these courses were designed to expose as many holes as possible to the beautiful ocean coasts in these areas. Because green fees and caddy costs at many of them are quite reasonable, the Dominican Republic is becoming one of the fastest growing golf trip destinations in the world, with new courses being built continuously.
